The Hodson Bay Group

Established by the O’Sullivan Family in 1992, Hodson Bay Group is an Irish family owned business comprising of four luxury hotels. We are the only Hotel Group in Ireland to achieve the Deloitte Platinum Award for Business Excellence and continue to add to our accolade of achievements such as; Best Four Star Hotel and Connaught Carvery of the Year at Galway Bay Hotel, Family Friendliest Hotel Award and Ireland’s Best Spa at Hodson Bay Hotel and the Midlands Best Conference Hotel and Ireland’s Best Breakfast award at Sheraton Athlone Hotel.

An evening with Imelda May at Hyatt Centric

During the opening of Hyatt Centric, we hosted a media night in association with music event organisers Sofar Sounds. The intimate gig kicked off with emerging soul artist Soulé (aka Samantha Kay, from Balbriggan). Followed by Toucan, a ten-piece funk pop band ensemble who performed an upbeat, feel good set. After the success of the first two artists, the crowd waited in anticipation for the local girl Imelda May to step on stage. Such was the intimacy of the atmosphere you could almost hear a pin drop.

Safe Stay Code

Group Commercial Director, Garry Walsh is Food Science and Microbiology graduate. Garry spent his early years managing high-risk food manufacturing for companies including Princes Foods and Green Isle Foods. During the lockdown Garry assembled all of the top expert advice to develop the Hodson Bay Group Safe-Stay Code.
Hodson Bay Group Safe Stay Code is an enhancement of our existing Hygiene and Cleanliness procedures and includes many additional measures to ensure your safety and well-being when you stay with us.

The building of Ireland’s First Hyatt Hotel

Throughout the construction phase of Ireland’s first Hyatt, we took the opportunity to record a time lapse of aspects of the hotel build. It was a great initiative and it is wonderful to reflect on the achievement of the entire design team. Little did we know that the project would unearth a 900 year old Viking Village many artefacts. The building commenced in September 2017 and the Hotel was eventually opened in October 2019.
