Main Duties

  • To fulfil all management and development duties and support the General Manager with any duties required by the business and its departments, including staff rosters.
  • To be a flexible and adaptable member of the Management team, working together with the General Manager as a team player to achieve the aims and profile required for the business.
  • Responsible while on duty for the security of the Leisure Centre, its staff, guests, monies and equipment.
  • To ensure that the very highest standards are adhered to at all times by way of thorough training and direction with your staff and daily site inspections.
  • To lead, motivate and coach staff within the Leisure Centre.
  • Required to have the utmost level of attention to detail at all times, as well as excellent developmental, organisational and time management skills.
  • To ensure a thorough understanding of Leisure Centre business.
  • Responsible for all aspects of day to day running of the Leisure Centre ensuring good organization, effective and efficient systems, professionalism of staff and service offered.
  • To ensure corporate standards are achieved at all times (Uniform, Printed Matter, and Behaviours).
  • Ability to plan, lead and develop all aspects of the business to continued growth, success and profit.
  • To initiate and instigate continual new ideas and avenues for guaranteed future development.
  • To investigate all complaints in a courteous and efficient manner and ensure that they are responded to in a professional and timely manner.
  • To proactively drive and sell Leisure Centre Memberships.
  • To organise all relevant external training as and when required.
  • To instigate any new systems, policies and procedures you feel necessary to ensure continued growth and success of the business.
  • To ensure that all areas of the Leisure Centre are cared for and kept in excellent condition at all times.
  • To lead and train the Leisure Centre team to ensure the highest level of delivery, knowledge and experience at all times.
  • To develop and contribute to the development of the Training Manuals (SOP Manuals) for the Leisure Centre.
  • To control overheads by careful stock control records and purchasing.
  • To ensure an excellent standard of customer care and professionalism are achieved at all times.

OTHER DUTIES

· Any other duties as directed by the General Manager.

Requirement:

  • 2-3 years management experience in a leisure centre
  • Up to date pool lifeguard award with IWS or RLSS
  • Gym qualification NCEF or equivalent
  • Swim Teachers awards with IWS, Swim Ireland or RLSS whilst not essential would be desirable
  • Supervisory Management qualification with ILAM
  • Pool Plant qualification with ILAM
  • Proven experience of working as part of a team
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Capacity for flexibility, change and innovation
  • A relevant third level qualification would be desirable but not essential
